It took me a while to finish this one, not only because what little time I had.But they just couldn't really pull me in.. And I'm not a quitter so I always finish even
if I don't really love it. Just to give the author a chance sometimes it just takes a bit of time
to get drawn to a book. But it did'nt happen.
Don't get me wrong the story was okay and it was a very steamy read at times.
I like my men alpha and a bit bossy and possessive and Sebastian had that but not much.
So don't take my review as do not read. Take it as it wasn't meant for me but maybe you'll love it.

I really enjoyed how the story pulled in the characters the mystery and intrigue from the first chapter. It's a mystery, thriller and a love story that keeps you on edge...trying to see what's really happening and the expected being the unexpected. The book really wasn't what I expected when I started but I really enjoyed the twist turns and getting inside Sophia's thoughts and Sebastian's secrets coming to light! This is a book for anyone who likes a good mystery, sex and finding a true love.
What an amazing ride this trilogy was!! Sebastian is such an enigma but a very sexy one! I felt my heart strings pulled when he struggled with doing what was right versus where his heart was leading him. His love for Sophia was just pouring off the pages. Sophia is such a strong heroine, full of passion, love, and strength. The danger and desire that these two are immersed in makes this an incredible story.
I appreciated the alternate ending but I agree with the author that the actual ending was the most appropriate for the future happiness of this couple.
Ms. Cross nailed this series, I loved it and highly recommend it!
I got book 1 from my Free books app for KINDLE and started to read Sophia and Sebastian's story. Needless to say before I was even done with the book I bought the box set. I didn't want to get stuck somewhere without the next book. This book has love , Hotter than Hot sex, action, kidnapping, men with guns, and more passionate sex with one hot guy. plus book 3 is written with Sophia and Sebastian's point of view which is fantastic. Maya did a fantastic job writing this story about a girl who was curious enough to go threw a door to meet the man of her dreams. And poor Sebastian didn't know what hit him when he meets this strong no holds barred woman. Enjoy!
A strong her; Sophia and a strong him; Sebastian but the story itself just seemed like an overview. I found Sebastian to be more likeable, more vulnerable than Sophia and I definitely wanted to get to know him better. Perhaps it was the career emphasis made to give these characters importance, but to me it just made no magic. The hot sex tried to tie them together and the passion was there, just not enough to overcome the story shortcomings.
A slight miss, but the author does have potential. And I did love the Australian location!
A spy novel and romance novel! This series is just simply fun. This many be my favorite Maya Cross. Also, Australia! That location is different, but also not so foreign to become a main point in the story. I enjoyed this entire Alpha Group series.
I'm still thinking about this little speakeasy of a Mexican restaurant they go to. I liked how he puts himself on the line for her. Plus, the spy aspect is well done. I enjoy spy books also and it was nice that this blended the genres well. My only downer is that the two spy groups battling each other was hard for me to swallow. I'm happy go get lost in fiction, but that bit didn't sit right with me. That said, I would recommend this is you like spy/ intrigue stories and steamy romance.
Basically a very cheap version of fifty shades, as most people have noted. He is into some kinky stuff and has some secrets, but in this first book you hardly learn anything besides they like each other. The author didn't describe certain details well and skipped over scenes that should've been there. For example, they're in the car making out, and then all of a sudden they're in the elevator going to the room; I guess they just teleported there. The sex scenes are also a drag. So they're in bed doing their stuff and Sophia says something like "I'm going to come soon", or is thinking it, and literally in the next sentence it says "that was the most intense orgasm ever". Where was the build up towards it ? The only reason I finished the books was because I bought the series otherwise I would've stopped at book one. I also think the whole set could've been a single book.
The first book was really good. The second book was okay and the third book became redundant. I think she could have done much better combining the best of all three into one but feel that some authors feel a need to write in series. Personal preference I suppose.
